The Home Economics Seminar Centre, within the Department of Curriculum Management was involved in the inset training targeting KGAs.  Support teachers from HESC facilitated a  programme mainly consisting of an introduction about the services offered at HESC, a discussion on the key nutrition principles with  a focus on  a whole school approach to health. Participants were divided into two groups and a hands-on practical session was carried out. The practical session included the preparation and cooking of a variety of savoury and sweet healthy snacks using the yeast dough. The food prepared was intended for preparation and consumption by young children in Kinder 2.

The aim of these sessions was to empower participants to gain further knowledge and skills through hands-on practical interventions thus encouraging them to make informed health choices. The importance of food safety and hygiene during practical interventions was also highlighted.
