Various sections within the Department of Curriculum Management including the Home Economics Seminar Centre, the Drama unit, Music, Art and History Peripatetic teachers as well as Heritage Malta collaborated together on a project targeted at Year 5 pupils in state and non-state schools between the 12th and the 23rd  October 2015.

Through the aspects of Art, Drama, Music, History and Home Economics, the project focused on commemorating the 450th anniversary of the Great Siege. Various workshops were organised at the recently restored Fort St. Angelo in Birgu. These activities helped pupils to understand better what happened during the Great Siege. The HESC set up a food display and an interactive 40 minute programme uncovering the gastronomical perspective of the Great Siege.
